Wood Technology and Enviroclub students have teamed up to build more than 40 ruru nesting boxes for the Maungakiekie Songbird Trust.

Onehunga High School's Wood Technology students and Enviroclub have joined forces to support local conservation by building more than 40 ruru nesting boxes for the Maungakiekie Songbird Trust.

As they constructed each nesting box, students learned about the significance of New Zealand's native ruru and the important role these birds play in our local ecosystem. Every box has been carefully crafted with technical skill and aroha to support this community conservation project.

The Enviroclub is hoping to extend its involvement by volunteering with the Maungakiekie Songbird Trust to help with conservation work in the local park, continuing the school's commitment to environmental stewardship.
