Mud, Sweat, and Big Smiles at the Hillary Outdoors Get2Go Challenge!

Mud, Sweat, and Big Smiles at the Hillary Outdoors Get2Go Challenge!

Year 10 students showed great teamwork and resilience at the Hillary Outdoors Get2Go Challenge.

The Year 10 The Great Outdoors class recently participated in the Hillary Outdoors Get2Go Regional Challenge. This outdoor education event encourages students to develop teamwork, resilience, problem-solving and leadership through a range of adventure-based activities. Held in 11 regions across New Zealand, the programme has involved more than 30,000 secondary school students since it began in 2006.

Throughout the day, the class completed kayaking, stand-up paddleboarding, orienteering, mountain biking and team problem-solving challenges. Despite cold temperatures and muddy conditions, the students approached each activity with determination and worked well together. They supported one another throughout the day and represented Onehunga High School positively.

We thank Hillary Outdoors for providing this opportunity. The Get2Go Challenge gives students the chance to develop practical outdoor skills, strengthen teamwork and build confidence through new experiences.
