OHS Enviro-Club recognised at the Tāmaki Makaurau Zero Waste Awards.

Several of our school’s sustainability leaders attended the Tāmaki Makaurau Zero Waste Awards, where the Onehunga High School Enviro-Club was nominated for the Rangatahi Leadership – Rangatahi Rangawhenua Rangatangata Award. The award recognises young people across Auckland who are taking action to reduce waste going to landfill. This year, 125 community groups, organisations and individuals were nominated across five award categories.

Our students were proud to be recognised for their work establishing composting systems at OHS. The evening also provided an opportunity to learn about the positive work being led by other groups across Tāmaki Makaurau. Congratulations to our Enviro-Club and sustainability leaders on this recognition.
