Year 12 Healthy Relationships Workshop

Year 12 Healthy Relationships Workshop

Le Va brings Pacific wellbeing expertise to OHS.

Today, our Year 12 students took part in an interactive healthy relationships workshop led by Le Va, New Zealand’s national Pacific wellbeing organisation. Le Va works alongside communities across Aotearoa to support better health and wellbeing outcomes, combining evidence-based approaches with Pasifika values, knowledge and ways of connecting During today’s session, students participated in group discussions, interactive games and team quizzes exploring respect, consent, effective communication and healthy boundaries. They considered how these apply in friendships, family relationships and online spaces.

The workshop gave students a supportive environment to discuss real-life situations, share their perspectives and develop practical strategies they can use as they become more independent and prepare for life beyond school. The session also encouraged students to think about the importance of maintaining respectful relationships and communicating clearly when navigating different situations.

We encourage whānau to continue these conversations at home, particularly around mutual respect, boundaries, consent and safe communication. Thank you to the Le Va team for sharing their knowledge and working with our Year 12 students today.
