OHS footballers swapped playing for officiating as they supported a local primary school tournament at Seddon Fields.

The Season of Service has begun for the OHS Sport Department, with our students sharing their skills to support sport in our local community. Members of our Junior Boys and Girls 1st XI football teams recently refereed the Māngere Ōtāhuhu Primary School Cluster Tournament at Seddon Fields.

Our students took responsibility for officiating matches throughout the tournament and represented OHS with pride. Tournament organiser Andy Jones praised their contribution, saying, “The kids were all great and did a wonderful job, both in their capacity as referees, and also representing your school well.” The tournament brought together several schools with connections to OHS, making it a valuable opportunity for our students to be positive role models for younger students in our community.

With winter sports moving towards zone championships, OHS has received further requests to provide support at primary and intermediate tournaments across our local area. We look forward to seeing more of our students sharing their skills and contributing to school sport in our community.
