OHS Robotics Team Takes First Place

Congratulations to SymbiOHSis 2900 W on an excellent win.

OHS Robotics team SymbiOHSis 2900 W has achieved an excellent result, winning the VEX Robotics V5 Scrimmage hosted by Kiwibots at Michael Park School on Saturday 5 September. The team of Year 12 students Joshua Baker, Nathan Marshall and William Scott has worked consistently over the past few months to master this year’s VEX challenge, Override. After finishing second at the previous scrimmage at King’s College, the team went one better this time to take first place.

It was also a special competition for OHS, with all three of our VEX V5 Robotics teams competing with and against each other in the same match. The photograph captures that moment, with Louie Gould, Ollie Ren, Arlo Gould and Troy Horrocks on the left and Nathan Marshall, William Scott and Joshua Baker on the right. It was a great opportunity for our students to test their robots, problem solve under pressure and continue developing their skills through competition.

OHS will host the next VEX Robotics scrimmage on Saturday 19 September from 9.00am to 3.30pm in the school hall. Members of our school community are welcome to come along, support our teams and see the robotics competition in action as our students continue preparing for the National VEX Robotics Finals early next year.
