Congratulations to our girls on an impressive fourth place finish from 16 teams.
Seven OHS students competed in the inaugural NFL 15U Flag Football Tournament at College Rifles today, producing an outstanding result against some very skilful and experienced teams. The girls won two of their three pool games, with their only loss coming against Manurewa High School, to progress through to the quarter finals.
OHS then produced an impressive quarter final performance to defeat Westlake and secure a place in the top four. The team faced Auckland Girls in the semi final before meeting Manurewa High School again in the third and fourth place playoff, eventually finishing fourth out of 16 teams. It was also a fantastic opportunity for the students to experience competitive flag football. They represented OHS with excellent teamwork and sportsmanship throughout the tournament and gained valuable experience as we continue to grow the sport at school.
A big thank you to the NFL and Flag Football New Zealand for providing this opportunity for our students. We are very proud of what the girls achieved in their first tournament and look forward to seeing their continued development.
