Year 13 student Kean has made an impressive impact at OHS.

Kean Bayongan has consistently displayed our WAKA values since arriving at Onehunga High School from the Philippines last year. Despite starting New Zealand schooling in Term 2 of Year 12, he quickly settled into an excellent learning routine and began producing strong results. Kean passed NCEA Level 2 by completing extra work at the end of the 2025 school year and has already achieved NCEA Level 3 this year.

Last term, Kean attended a Gateway work experience placement at Four Square in Onehunga, where the owners were very impressed with his mature attitude, willingness to learn and integrity. He has also quickly formed good friendships at OHS and is often willing to support others with their learning.

After leaving OHS, Kean plans to study Engineering at the University of Auckland. We wish him all the best for the future and thank him for the positive contribution he has made in his relatively short time as a member of the OHS whānau. Kean is a very deserving recipient of this week’s WAKA Award.
