A great opportunity for our new students to experience school life and prepare for the year ahead.

Today, we were delighted to welcome our incoming Year 9 students to Onehunga High School for our annual Year 8 Transition Day. It was wonderful to see so many students exploring their new school, meeting staff and beginning to make new friendships ahead of 2027. Supported by our Junior Leaders, students experienced a range of subjects and activities, giving them a taste of learning at secondary school.

The day was designed to help students become familiar with their new environment, build confidence and feel more comfortable about starting at OHS next year. All students took home a hard copy of our 2027 Start of the Year Information Booklet, which is also available online. The booklet contains important information about starting dates, uniform, stationery, devices for learning and what to expect at the beginning of the school year.
