Level 3 Drama students performed 3 scenes from Arthur Miller’s The Crucible last Thursday.
Although written in 1953 and a fictionalised dramatisation of the Salem witch trials that took place from 1692 to 1693, the play remains entertaining and relevant. It is a cautionary tale about the dangers of unchecked fear, the importance of individual conscience, and the fragility of justice in the face of mass hysteria.
The students delivered outstanding performances, capturing the intense emotion and moral conflict of the play. Their powerful portrayals, convincing characterisation, and confident stage presence brought Arthur Miller’s work to life. The audience left the performance impressed by the depth of talent in the school and having thoroughly enjoyed seeing the students engage in theatre.
Congratulations to the students involved and to Ms.Coogan!
