Common Assessment Activity (CAA) – Week 9

Common Assessment Activity (CAA) – Week 9

In Week 9 of this term, Onehunga High School students will have their second and final opportunity in 2025 to sit the Common Assessment Activities (CAAs) in Numeracy and Literacy.

Achieving Literacy (Reading and Writing) and Numeracy through these CAAs is a co-requisite for gaining an NCEA certificate at Level 1, 2 or 3. The credits gained for these standards sit outside the 60 credits required at each level to achieve the certificate. Students can check if they are entered in these standards by logging into their NZQA account or through the KAMAR Portal.

Students who sat these assessments earlier in the year do not need to resit unless they did not meet the standard.

Assessment details: All exams will take place in the Gym and will begin promptly at 8.50 am. Students are encouraged to arrive at least 15 minutes early to ensure they are well prepared.

  • Tuesday 9 September – Literacy Reading (5 credits)
  • Wednesday 10 September – Literacy Writing (5 credits)
  • Thursday 11 September – Numeracy (10 credits)

Please note that both the Reading and Writing assessments must be passed in order to gain Literacy.
