For many, this was a first-of-its-kind experience that shattered any preconceived notions of what "ballet" looks like.
This modern performance is a spin-off, set in the world of politics. Macbeth rises to absolute power with the help of three demonic influencers. The plot is full of suspicion, fear, anger, poison, and even murder!
Cayce Coe (Year 11) was "smitten" by the sheer scale of the production. She noted that the choreography was incredibly detailed and complex, proving that ballet can be just as much about raw drama as technique.
Ja-bez Halasima (Year 12) found deep connections between the on-stage destruction and real-world themes of control and the human need to please others. He highlighted the "Greek tragedy" energy that made the performance feel universally relatable.
The students left the theatre with a newfound admiration for the dancers' sheer athleticism and the producers' vision.
Thank you to the Teacher of Drama and Dance, Ms Coogan, for organising the tickets and the memorable experience.
