Senior students attend national leadership conference focused on justice, advocacy, and creating meaningful change.
On 5 June 2026, six senior students attended the World Vision Youth Conference at The Trusts Arena, joining schools from across Auckland for a day of learning and leadership.
The conference is designed for students in Years 11 to 13 and focuses on developing a strong sense of justice and leadership among young people in Aotearoa. Each year, thousands of students take part, returning to their schools with a clearer understanding of global issues and a renewed commitment to making a difference.
Throughout the day, students participated in interactive sessions that explored the realities of injustice and inequality. They examined global challenges and considered practical ways to respond through leadership and action. Guest speakers shared personal experiences and insights from their work, offering real world examples of advocacy and change.
A key aspect of the conference was the opportunity for students to connect with others who share similar values. The atmosphere encouraged open discussion and the sharing of ideas, creating a space where students felt confident to reflect and contribute.
Students described the experience as eye opening and inspiring. Many spoke about gaining a deeper understanding of global issues and feeling motivated to take action within their own communities.
The conference provided valuable learning that supports student leadership and encourages thoughtful engagement with social issues. It was a meaningful experience, and there is strong anticipation for how students will apply their learning within the school and beyond.
