Students led a successful Schools’ Planting Day at Onehunga Peoples’ Garden, supporting environmental action and community sustainability.
On Saturday 16 May, OHS Youth Sustainability Leaders organised and led a successful Schools’ Planting Day at Onehunga Peoples’ Garden.
Students spent the day helping with planting, weeding, and water testing as part of ongoing efforts to support the local environment and promote sustainable practices within the community. The event provided students with the opportunity to contribute positively to the environment while developing leadership, teamwork and environmental stewardship skills.
The day highlighted the commitment of OHS students to sustainability and community action, with students working together to care for and improve the shared garden space.
Students involved included Arlo Gould, Nathan Marshall, Addy Girvan, Isla Denne, Tengahue Matenga, Maho Shiosaka, and Fia Lealaogata.
Congratulations to all students involved for their hard work, leadership and commitment to making a positive difference in the community.
