Students showed confidence in debating and public speaking at the annual MUNA conference.
A group of Onehunga High School students attended the annual Model United Nations Assembly (MUNA) conference held at Rosmini College on Friday 22 and Saturday 23 May. MUNA is a two day event where senior secondary students represent United Nations member countries and debate world issues and current global topics. Students take part in formal debates, deliver speeches and respond to questions while working alongside students from schools across New Zealand.
Representing France and Senegal, students participated in a range of debates and discussions throughout the conference. Ms Gabriel said the students represented the school well during the event. “Our students spoke well, took questions, represented us well and did us proud,” she said.
Well done to all of the students who took part: Cleo Milne, Ja bez Halasima, Daniel Grange, Dominic Eaton, Harley Taufelila, Lawrence Stanley Shuster, Reese Kilpatrick, Ronan Liang, Nathan Marshall and William Scott.
