A visit to Massey University's Psychology Experience Day gave students the opportunity to experience university learning while exploring the diverse pathways available through the study of psychology.
Four of our Year 13 students recently attended the Psychology Experience Day at Massey University, where they deepened their understanding of psychology, experienced university learning, and explored potential study and career pathways. Throughout the day, students participated in interactive activities and attended presentations led by university staff and current psychology students. Macy's highlight was a practical activity where students traced the path of a star while looking only through a mirror, demonstrating how the brain processes information and adapts to new challenges.
Paeshynce particularly enjoyed experiencing a university lecture theatre and hearing from current Massey psychology students about their study journeys and future aspirations. Kate and Lydia were inspired by the wide range of careers that psychology can lead to, including opportunities in health, research, education, sport, business and neuroscience, confirming that it is a field they are seriously considering for future study.
We thank Massey University for providing our students with such an engaging and thought-provoking experience. Opportunities like these help students make informed decisions about their future by giving them first-hand insight into university study and the diverse career pathways available through psychology. 🎓
