Our Year 13 rangatahi complete three years in the programme, with a special award for Wynter Looker.
On Saturday, our Year 13 rangatahi celebrated an important milestone as they graduated from the Pūhoro STEMM programme. Pūhoro is a programme that supports Māori students to pursue opportunities in science, technology, engineering, mathematics and mātauranga Māori. Having been part of the programme since Year 11, it was a wonderful opportunity to recognise their achievements, reflect on how far they have come and see their aspirations for the future beginning to take shape.
Throughout their time with Pūhoro, our rangatahi have explored opportunities in STEMM while developing their confidence and considering future study and career pathways. A special congratulations to Wynter Looker, who received the MVP Award across all participating South Auckland schools. This is an outstanding achievement and recognition of Wynter's contribution to the programme.
While graduation marks the end of their time in the school programme, our rangatahi can continue their Pūhoro journey through Te Urunga Pae. This provides ongoing mentoring and support as students transition into tertiary study and future careers.
Congratulations to all our graduates. We are proud of your achievements and look forward to seeing the opportunities you pursue beyond Onehunga High School.
