Our students finish 11th out of 20 teams in their first Open grade tournament.
Yesterday, 15 OHS students represented the school at the College Sport Junior Ki o Rahi Tournament held at Te Pane o Mataoho (Māngere Mountain). Competing in the Open grade for the first time, our team achieved an excellent result, finishing 11th out of 20 teams.
The team played well throughout the tournament, securing wins against Te Kura Māori o Ngā Tapuwae and Westlake Boys/Girls Green. It was a valuable opportunity for our students to develop their skills, gain experience against strong opposition and learn from some of Auckland's leading Ki o Rahi teams.
A special thank you to Year 11 student Sanalio Latu, who represented OHS as a student referee. His contribution made it possible for our team to participate in the tournament. Thank you also to Mr Collins for organising the trip and Ms Carter for coaching and supporting our students.
Congratulations to everyone involved on a successful first Open grade tournament!
