Captain Aidan Grant takes five wickets, including a remarkable double hat-trick.
Our 1st XI Cricket team made an excellent start to their Term 4 season with a memorable victory over Auckland Grammar School. Wearing their new cricket kit, the team produced an impressive fielding and bowling performance. Captain Aidan Grant was outstanding, taking five wickets for just three runs, including a remarkable double hat-trick in which he bowled four consecutive batters. Despite this, Auckland Grammar recovered to finish on 100 runs.
OHS began the run chase strongly, with opening batters Ryan Lee and Anthony Wright putting together a 44 run partnership. However, a middle order collapse left the team struggling at 76/7 after 12 overs. Zac King and Asher Tebbutt then showed great composure under pressure, combining for an unbeaten 28 run partnership. Zac finished the match with a boundary to secure an excellent three wicket victory.
Match Results:
- Auckland Grammar School: 100 all out
- Onehunga High School: 104/7 (17.1 overs)
- Result: OHS won by 3 wickets
Congratulations to our 1st XI on a fantastic start to the season, particularly captain Aidan Grant for his exceptional bowling performance!
