OHS overturned a halftime deficit with a disciplined and composed performance to secure a 24–19 win over 2025's 1B Champions Macleans College.
OHS 1st XV beat Macleans 1st XV 24–19 in a close and entertaining match. Macleans led 14–12 at halftime after a strong first half, showing great skill with the ball and well-worked backline moves. They were a disciplined side and made OHS work hard for every opportunity. This result means they move ahead of Macleans on the ladder to an impressive 3rd place. Our team has now officially qualified for the 1B Championship Round, an important achievement.
The OHS 1st XV has built a strong culture this season, centred around the school's Waka Values. This was evident today as they played with discipline and composure throughout the match. In the second half, their attack and defence became more coordinated and the final quarter was outstanding. The team scored four tries and added two conversions, lifting the crowd as they finished strongly. It was a quality contest between two well-matched teams, with OHS producing one of their best team performances of the season to secure the win.
The next part of the season in the Championship will put us against the best sides in 1B and we look forward to the support from our wider community as we push towards the playoffs. Congratulations to all the players, staff and loyal supporters.
